I hope it’s okay to post this here.
I was in Wilmington this weekend helping some of the people affected by the hurricanes. One of the homes I worked on was owned by a man and wife that retired and moved here 5 years ago to enjoy their golden years. They asked about flood insurance when purchasing the home, but were talked out of it since their home was in a 500 year flood plain. They lost everything they own.
The biggest need right now is home restoration. Samaritan’s Purse has been operating out of Port City Church and has been extremely effective at mobilizing hundreds of volunteers to serve the people who need help the most. So far they have already restored 624 homes – and that is incredible! But they still need help. There are over 2500 homes still in need! If you can spare any time, or you know some who can, please consider serving with Samaritan’s Purse to help!
